Useful Items to Pack in Your Hand Luggage:

• Passports and all visas
• Foreign currency/travellers’ cheques
• Snacks / chocolates
• Itinerary for all your travel arrangements
• Books / magazines or any guide books for exploring
• Airline tickets and hotel documentation
• Camera, mobile phone / MP3 player
• Sweatshirt / jumper ( it could get chilly on board your flight due to the high altitude)
• Credit cards and if necessary driving license

• Clothes / shoes / underwear
• Sunglasses
• Jacket / rain mac
• Hat / caps (especially if touring around)
• Beach towels
• Swimwear
• Travel adaptors
• Sun cream with a high SPF (these are often very expensive if bought at your hotel)
• Toiletries
• Relevant medicines including mosquito repellent if travelling to hot destinations

• Activity books / magazines
• Devices such as Nintendo / PSP / IPad / kindle
• Your child’s favourite teddy / toy
• Plentiful snacks and drinks
• Blanket

• Ensure that you have your relevant medication / vaccinations
• Ensure you or any of your party has a valid visa if necessary / have completed your ESTA application if travelling to North America and that you have at least 6 months validity remaining on your passport.
• Ensure that you and your party all have EHICs – European Health Insurance Cards and that all the details are correct, and that the area you are travelling to is on the safe list on the Foreign Commonwealth website. This can be done on through https://www.gov.uk/
• Ensure you have booked taxis to and from the airport – or booked your car parking at the airport.
• Ensure you have foreign exchange: currency and traveller’s cheques.
• Possibly buy a guide book about the area you are visiting.
• Make relevant copies of your travel documents including passports, driving licences, visa and insurance policies and ensure the copies are kept with a relative or close friend.
• Leave your house keys and contact details with a relative or close friend.
• If you have a house alarm, ensure a trusted neighbour has the details for the alarm company if necessary.
• If possible unplug relevant electrical appliances at home.
• If you’re travelling in winter, turn off the mains water to stop freezing pipes.
• Ensure all windows and doors are securely locked.
• Many airlines have restrictions on checked in baggage. Please check any specifics with your airlines / transport provider. Power banks, e- cigarettes, lighters, party poppers etc may not be permitted in check in baggage.
